I would like to thank my violin teacher for believing me and patiently coaching me which allowed me to clinch first place at the Edinbinary International Music Competition. Dmitry Kabalevsky’s Violin Concerto in C Major, Op. 48, composed in 1948, bridges technical brilliance and expression with its sophisticated style. It was written post-war to reflect resilience and optimism. Kabalevsky’s concerto showcases unconventional melodies and dissonant harmonies on the piano, aligning with 20th century innovation and modern music.
